Leaf Peeping

We drove up to Flagstaff Sunday and joined the masses of leaf peepers driving the road to Snow Bowl to enjoy the fall color. We stopped at Aspen Corner and walked around admiring the aspens that have turned to gold. They are a week or two from their peak color, but this was likely the only time we would be able to drive up there. We continued on to Snow Bowl (the ski resort), where there was even more fall color. It was a great day to be out in nature!

Winter White 2

Our snow has melted after hanging around for a week. Today’s photo was taken in January on our trip up to Snow Bowl in Flagstaff. It was snowing lightly, and fog obscured some of the trees in the distance- creating another winter white image.

Having Fun

On our visit to Flagstaff last week, we spent some time at the Arboretum. It was very enjoyable (even with the busload of second graders catching tadpoles at the pond), and we especially liked the view of the San Francisco Peaks from across the meadow. A frame is set up for picture taking, and of course we couldn’t resist taking photos of each other with the peaks behind.

When I got home, I had some photoshop fun with this photo:
