Free is the topic of the day. The first thing that leaped into my minds was rubber bands. I rejected it, but kept coming back to the idea, as I couldn’t think of anything else.
Rubber bands always came free with the three newspapers we subscribed to. I guess they weren’t really free; we paid for the newspapers. Over the years, one by one, we cancelled subscriptions, and now we get NO newspapers. I really miss my Sunday San Francisco Chronicle, but I guess it isn’t what it used to be. So now, we are down to just a few free rubber bands. We used to be drowning in them- whatever did we do with them all?

What a great shot! And great interpretation. I love the reflection. This poor little rubber band looks as if its seen better days. BTW, I still get a newspaper and have lots of “free” rubber bands, so if you ever need any, please let me know!!
You make rubber band bracelets…of course……..use them to keep a deck of cards together , of which the box has long disappeared , keep pencils and craft brushes together and my favorite……wrapping paper until I found out that a cut toilet tissue roll works better and doesn’t leave a mark and ………….
