Where have I been? I can’t believe I’ve never done this before!

I was looking through the tutorials and challenges from last year’s Beyond Layers class and discovered this activity. You go through your books (or go to the library) and find some book titles that you stack to make a poem.  Teachers- wouldn’t this be fun?  This was a quick five minute attempt- and is kind of a cheat, because the second title is kind of a poem all on its own- but I like it just the same. I want to try it again!

  1. Very clever and very pretty! Most of the books I read are from the library so I don’t have many of my own. But I am going to try when I get home.

  2. What a delightful challenge. Very inspiring. I may have to try this. Of course, my stack of books may not provide such lofty inspiration as yours (e.g., Sibley’s Guide to Birds—hey, wait, that could be very lofty 🙂 ) but I’m going to give it a try. However, with my tendency for loquacity (is that a word?), I may not be able to write a poem using just three books!

    That said (!!) I love this shot. Simple and very elegant. And the color is lovely.

  5. I like this photo! My house is filled with books. I think I could spend days coming up with combinations! It’s a great idea. I signed up for Beyond “combo”, but haven’t yet looked at the Beyond Layer class.
