While waiting for the Veterans Day Parade to begin, I amused myself by doing some street photography. This is not an unusual street scene here- and I was taken by the contrast between the fellows in the old western wear and the woman busy with her phone.
This one’s from the archives- the same San Francisco trip where my last blog photo was taken- but I still may use it for my assignment if I don’t take anything else appropriate. This was a street musician down at Fisherman’s Wharf- and the crowd of oblivious, unappreciative passersby. Just a basic edit and black and white conversion- would love to crop it a little on the right. . .
For a change of pace, here’s a multiple exposure of downtown Flagstaff- looking up at the signs.
When we visited Yarnell with Joan and Rudy last week, Rudy spent some time talking to and photographing this delightful gentleman outside a local eatery. I snapped a quick shot and went inside, because I was hungry. Rudy ended up with a wonderful portrait, and I got this candid shot.
Here’s a view of Market Street- one of the busiest streets in the city.
On Saturday, I went with my camera club on an architectural photo shoot in Flagstaff, where we had a map and buildings marked on the map to photograph. I had so much fun tagging along with two expert photographers with fancy cameras, as we roamed the streets, eventually ignoring the map and photographing mostly street scenes. The photographs I took of buildings were pretty uninspired and boring and not very good, but I had a great time with street photography.
This shot of a street musician and his doggie is my favorite.
I processed it with one of the HDR filters in on1’s Perfect Effects and then layered it with the original photo is Photoshop, where I masked out the HDR edit from some of the areas.
