SMASHING Melinda ! I love quail too, and this would be lovely to me, no matter what. But your technique is GREAT! I have never seen a Gambel’s Quail in nature. By the way, your photo of this lovely creature shows how alive he is, how alert and energized, and how wary, with his bright black eye wide and one tentative foot forward. It’s as if a stray noise or any movement would flush him up and away into the sky.

my cousin had a pet quail…the mother had been killed and my Uncle rescued it……it’s name was duffy…….nice picture !
