Hello Melinda, Your hummer in the top photo appears to be a female (or juvenile) Rufous Hummingbird. (The males are much more rufous colored). They ARE the feistiest hummingbirds, and we’ve always loved them just for that reason: they have attitude! They’ll buzz and chatter at other hummers until they have the nectar all to themselves. AND they’ll dive-bomb YOU if you are out there and they think you are competition. Pretty funny! Enjoy your wonderful hummingbirds. They are just incredible little birds.
