Some fun multiple exposure creations for Friday:
Submerged
Wet
When we were out driving around Sunday, we stopped at Watson Lake for a short while. There was some snow on the ground, but what interested me was the high water level. Areas that we could normally walk through in Watson Woods were flooded, which made for some nice reflections.

Cabin Fever
My husband and I began to develop a bit of cabin fever over the weekend, as the weather had kept us inside for most of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. By Sunday we were ready for an outing and decided to drive over to Lynx Lake. The road was plowed and we were able to have a nice view of the lake before the snow began. The rest of the day wasn’t snowy, at least where we live, but we are expecting more today.
New Dawn, New Day
As I walked out of our bedroom this morning, I could see a bright orange glow on the living room wall. I ran (yes, ran) to the window to see a gorgeous sunrise peeking out under a dark, cloudy sky. I knew it would only last a minute or two, so I ran around the house- where is my camera (on the kitchen counter!)?, grabbed it (with MACRO lens attached, no time to switch), fumbled with the lock on the font door, and raced to the driveway in my nightgown and slippers to get about 10 shots, before the orange glow faded. No photoshopping- just a little brightening of the snow. This is what it looked like:

Homescape
Many of my favorite photos these days are taken right from the driveway or across the street. It is usually cloud patterns or streaks of light on the hills that bring me outside with my camera. I find that by using intentional camera movement or in camera multiple exposures, I can create an image that expresses the way I see the scene in front of me rather than a literal depiction. Usually only a small amount of post-processing is needed, which is unusual for me!
This one is a combination of in an camera multiple exposure combined with photoshop layers. It was taken in the blue hour right before dawn, when the lights from the shopping mall across town were still visible.
I have gathered some of my Homescapes together in a slideshow, which you can view on my gallery page. Click on the word, gallery in the menu at the top right of this page or click here.

Just a Pear
I’m playing it safe this time- just a traditional still life. Although- I know that in my photo group I would get (gently) critiqued for having a square format and mostly for having no space around the edges- and perhaps for the shallowish depth of field! I might even get the kiss of death comment- “It would make a nice greeting card.” But I’m on winter break!
