Mama Hummer

After I had already posted my Monday photo of the day, my son-in-law, Justin, discovered a mama hummingbird sitting on her nest in our magnolia tree which hangs over our deck.  Using my zoom lens, I stood underneath and snapped a zillion photos. I was happy with this image and had a lot of fun processing it with Kim Klassen’s warm sun texture.

  1. This is so beautiful! And how wonderful to have a hummingbird nesting in your tree!
We don’t have them here in Scotland but they are such lovely little birds.

  2. You even caught a little of the light in her eye. Wonderful shot. Didn’t it just make you feel so elated when you put the texture to it? Happy Tues.

  3. I would so love to experience finding a nest. I can’t wait for these beauty’s to show up. I planted a red honeysuckle for them last year and hope it blooms this year. Lovely photo.

  4. What a fabulous capture and great use of the texture. How lucky were you to have captured such a wonderful piece of nature. This picture is a treasure.

    Bright blessings,
    Kathy
