Monday’s huge storm didn’t stop my backyard birds from hanging out by the feeder. During the worst parts of the storm. they would take shelter on the patio as their favorite bushes became engulfed by snow, but when the wind died down, they would be out again. I love the minimalism of this fluffed up little guy contrasted with the white snow.
It is a photography paradox to me that many, many, many of my favorite photos were taken on Southern California beaches- when I spent so much of my adult life disliking Southern California (the crowds and the TRAFFIC!). There is something about the serenity of the water and the white sand that appeals to my eye. I remember looking at this trio of ladies with their hats and cover-ups and thinking they looked like my kind of people- so I titled it “The Book Club.”
This is from my walk a couple weeks ago at Watson Lake.
Water, water everywhere at Watson Lake!
On the day after Christmas we woke to a thick blanket of fog obscuring our view of the houses and snowy hills. The fog lingered until nine or ten, when the blue sky and sun broke through.
